How do you measure how hard a logic puzzle is? We use the walkthrough. For every daily puzzle, our solver writes out a full chain of deductions, one step at a time, always taking the simplest move that makes progress. Each step is something a person has to notice. A “what if” test, where you suppose an item is somewhere and follow the clues until they contradict each other, is the hardest kind of step, so it counts as five ordinary ones.

Step counts are a good guide but not the whole story. A puzzle with a knight's move or an equidistant clue can feel harder than its length suggests, because those clues take longer to read. If a puzzle here was easy for you, or one that isn't here gave you trouble, tell us.

The list updates every morning when the previous day's puzzles join the archive. Each date links to the full clues and walkthrough, and “Play” opens the puzzle in the game.
